Good idea on the writing class. It may give ypou a load od insight. If not, at least you tried.

I wrote a CSI fanfic one that grew ans wound up longer than I thought. So I can relate to what you are saying.

Frodo-Sam fic would be an enjoyable read. It would give the characters more dimension in their daily lives.

And your writing may be better than you think.
